 | 8th Annual Summer Institue - East Noon, July 2 to July 5, 2010 Kempenfelt Conference Centre in A 60-minute drive from Greater Toronto, this dedicated resort style facility is located on the beautiful shores of Kempenfelt Bay on Lake Simcoe, 12 miles/19 kilometers south-east of Barrie - the hub of Simcoe County and a perfect home base for fun-filled daytrips. The Kempenfelt Conference Centres historic and award-winning main lodge has been designed to capture the lake views and southern light. The living room features a massive stone fireplace and a two story vaulted ceiling with pine beams hewn from trees on the property. | Faculty The faculty is led by Wendy Maxwell (M.A.), who created the AIM revolutionizing second language instruction, both in Canada and internationally. She has written Histoires en action ! program, Histoires en action ! pour les tout petits, Stories in Action! and Life in Action! She is currently working on the Jeunesse en action ! series for junior high FSL students. She is the recipient of a 1999 Prime Ministers Award for Teaching Excellence and the 2004 H.H. Stern Award for Innovation in Second Languages. She has made many appearances on CBC, Radio-Canada, Citytv and CTV. Her program has been written up in the National Post, the Ottawa Citizen, the Toronto Star and various journals in foreign territories. Wendy has given keynote addresses in Paris, Tokyo and The Hague.
