Based on Bowen Island, Vancouver, British Columbia, AIM is an educational publishing firm that develops and publishes second language learning programs in both English and French. We now need to add another fluent bilingual English/French copy editor/proof reader to our staff.
We are seeking a diligent structural/copy editor, responsible for editing a variety of copy, as assigned, related to our unique teaching tools for our English/French as a second language component.
The ideal candidate must maintain style and content, edit and rework copy according to the senior editor¹s recommendations, and submit work on a timely basis in keeping with deadlines provided. It is critical that the editor can work within the language framework designed for our teaching tools.
All applicants must be proficient in a PC or Mac environment. Candidates must have demonstrated skills in writing, grammar and punctuation, creative/graphic work flow, editing on screen and from hard copy, and editing for both Canadian and American readers. Ideally, the candidate should possess 2 or 3 years of similar experience and a post-secondary education. Experience in FSL textbook editing and/or the AIM Language Learning program would be a major asset for this position.
This is a freelance, contract position with hours determined by ongoing projects. If you enjoy a friendly, personable work environment, work well independently and aren't intimidated by deadline-oriented work, this position is perfect for you!
We thank all applicants for their responses, but will only contact those we are considering for this position.
Interested applicants should email their resume along with a letter outlining hourly salary expectations to: AIMeditorsposition@hotmail.com |
